Overview
Once called Doeskin Lake, it is a small quiet lake with about 30 cottages and/or homes. The lake is about 10 feet deep with a sandy shoreline on the south and west sides. Water comes into Doe Lake from the west side and drains out through the farm land at the east end. A small creek flows into Fawn Lake and continues into Buck Lake. The east end of the lake was formerly a 300 acre farm owned by the ‘White’ family. Our company sold it to a developer in 1989 (resold at a later date) and a plan for development has been completed for about 10 waterfront lots and a couple have been recently sold. At the west end of Doe Lake, on the opposite side of Conservation Road, there is a property with an artificially created pond. The ‘Conservation Club’ dredged the marsh many years ago to attract ducks and other wildlife. A small group of individuals held the property until 2011 when it was sold.
Doe Lake’s catch of the day will likely be a bass although yellow perch, sunfish and catfish are also present. Properties on the lake will sell between $500.000. and $780,000. Purchasers of lakefront homes on Doe Lake are likely to be working in the area rather than retiring. There is a wonderful, musically talented, family on the lake, you may hear them on occasion.
Doe Lake is located about 4 miles from Gravenhurst and may be accessed from Doe Lake Road running east from Hwy #11 just north of Gravenhurst. For properties for sale on this lake call Muskoka Real Estate Services at 705-687-7777.
